St Georges Square
A ‘one room’ solution for cooking and socialising that opens to the garden.
The focal point of the space is the glass sided projecting window seat. Its the first thing you see walking into the room – an inviting place to (almost) sit under the garden magnolia tree.
The charred wood external cladding is a commanding feature. Its blackened surface is complemented by natural wood window frames and roof supports with a ‘jolly’ orange painted soffit. Internally, natural finish glulam beams with infill exposed rafters and a massive trapezoidal single pane roof light animate the ceiling.
Upon completion, the only complaint from the client was that they love the space so much they will never use the rest of the house!
